Sinigang na Hipon (Shrimp in Sour Soup-Philippine Style)
Sinigang na Hipon is my all-time favorite version of Sinigang. It is very tasty not to mention costly.
Ingredients:
1 kilo fresh Shrimp
1 bundle Kangkong (morning glory), separate the leaves from the stalk (cut into 2″ strips)
1 bundle Sitaw (long green beans)
1 pc. Radish
2-3 pcs tomatoes, sliced into quarter
1 onion, diced
3 pcs. sili (long green chillies)
Patis (Fish sauce) to taste
1 pack sinigang mix
Procedure:
Boil onions and tomatoes in water. When the water starts to boil, add the radish and Sinigang mix. Lower the fire then add the shrimp, long beans and kangkong stalks and chillies. Simmer for 5 minutes. Season with fish sauce to taste. Remove from fire. Add the kangkong leaves and cover so the remaining heat will cook the leaves. Serve hot.
Note: Pardon if my picture only has the kang kong leaves in it without the other vegetables. I am eating alone and mostly you need to buy the whole pack of vegetable so it will be such a waste if I can’t eat all. ^ -^
